  • What is your most recent book? Tell us a bit about it.

My recent book is titled A silent Woman Speaks Up is considered the outcome of more than forty years of Upper Egyptian life. Such life is characterized by restrictions and oppression due to old traditions that cause women to suffer. The book contains fifty poems. Most of these poems show how women are fighting to gain their human right.

  • Tell us something about yourself. (Where are you from, what is your background, how long have you been writing or anything we might find interesting about you.)

I am a poetess . I was born and grew up in Sohag , a small governorate in Upper Egypt. There I went to the university to pursue my love of English literature. I received Bachelor of Arts in English. I currently lives there with her family. I adore English although it is not my mother tongue . So I express my inner thoughts , emotions and dreams through English poetry. I have been writing poetry since I was at faculty of education. By the way , I work as an English teacher, secondary stage .

  • How did you know you wanted to be a writer? How did you get started?

Frankly, I studied poetry as a subject at college I had to pass it like other academic subjects like drama, novel and literature. Yet ,when I feel frustrated ,anguish or depressed I hold a pen and write what I feel Then I feel purified ,putting down my pen and read. I see myself in poetic lines with musical rhyme. That is my story with poetry. 

  • Are you a pantser or a plotter? (i.e., Do you outline and plan your story or do you just sit down and write?)

I just sit down and write what I feel and need to write about but my writing must convey a message to my readers. Once they get ,I feel that I hit the point.

  • Do you have a daily or weekly writing schedule, or do you write only when you are inspired? How many words or pages do you complete in a typical day?

I write only when I am inspired.

  • Where do you get information or ideas for your books?

I create my work around the stories of others. I spend my days writing and working on many projects. I hope to continue exploring expression and the art of healing through poetry for. I always loves hearing from her readers and from my mind and heart as well.

  • Do you read reviews? Or Do you hear from your readers much? What kind of thing do they say?

I read reviews and like to hear from my readers much. They say that my poetry is distinguished as it is different from traditional poetry. My writings are characterized by philosophic temper with deep meanings and strong faith in divine force.

  • What is the best advice you could give other writers or someone who want to become an author about writing or publishing?

I advise other authors to read literary works of other great writers to benefit from .They shouldn't stop writing and insist on being heard internationally.

  • When did you write your first book and how old where you? (tell us a little bit about your experience).

I wrote my first book when I was thirty years old. It was a dream that I realized difficultly. I joined poetry groups and shared my poems .

Readers like my work especially women as I always call for women emancipation especially women in my society. I write English poetry full of prominent themes and magnificent poetic images in a universal pursuit. I am a daughter of a solid but conservative society from which women suffer a lot. So I collected poems in my first a book.

  • What do you like to do when you are not writing?

I like my kids so much I like sitting with them, cooking their meals myself and following their study.

  • What does your family think of your writing?

My family like my writing as they encourage me to go on. They feel that my work is distinguished as not many women in Arab society write English poetry.

  • What was the most surprising things you learnt from creating your own books?

I learned a lot from the experience of my first book as I knew other poetesses from all over the world and shared them an anthology. I represented woman in the Middle East. I mean being a poetess with self-published book widens my knowledge and experience compared with other environments I didn't know anything before.

  • How many books have you written?

I wrote other five books Dynamics of Feelings , Fragrance of Heart, The Noise of Silence , She and Echoes from the Hearts.

  • As a child, what did you want to become when you grew up?

As a child I wanted to become an actress when I grow up as I liked heroines of
